Description

Rob Machado on the Seaside & Beyond, "I’ve really been wanting to play around with some longer fishy kind of boards for a while now... Ever since I spent some time with Skip Frye and he showed me some of his fishes in the 7 foot range It’s been on my mind. I first stretched out the Go Fish and made a 7'0". It worked great and really got my mind spinning. Then I made a 7’0" Seaside and it became one of my favorite boards in my quiver. I rode it in everything - super small days, bigger days and everything in between. It’s become a board that I will take with me everywhere I go.

It glides. It turns on a dime and most importantly, it puts a smile on my face."

Wave Type

One of Rob's most popular midlength shapes because of its versatility, this board is tons of small in just about any conditions. From micro days you might not consider surfing, to bigger days when the waves are more solid, to everything in between, the Seaside & Beyond has become a favorite in our quiver. Recommended in 1-5' surf, skewing towards poor to average conditions.

Board Features

A brainchild of Rob Machado, this longer fishy outline is not only pleasing to the eye, but also performs. It takes cues from his Go Fish and Seaside models, and was inspired by legendary Southern California surf icon and shaper Skip Frye.

This stick is fast

"I just got a few sessions in on the 7’4” Seaside and Beyond. I am impressed with the down the line speed. I am using the Machado Seaside quad keels. You often see video of people tail riding these long fish and while you have to be back in turns what impresses me the most so far is how it goes when you slide your stance up in trim. I had sessions on fast beach break and fast point break and have been beating ridiculous sections. It’s fast."

Board is Rad, im

"Board is Rad, im 6. 3ft 84Kgs. I have the 6. 8ft SSB and ride it with twin keels. Rail to rail and speed are great, good paddler and easy to transition from the short boards. I've usualy ride Seaside (5. 7ft), Toofish (5. 4ft) Greatwhite twin (5. 10ft). This Board it going to be hard to get off! Worth the Dingoes $"

Surfed this board (7. 0)

"Surfed this board (7. 0) in solid conditions at Main Break Maragret River and Airport Left in Bali and was pleasantly surprised at the way it chipped into the wave early allowing me time to read and make the most of the large and delicious walls in front of me. I surfed it as a Twin and a Quad (Machado Seaside) and preferred the Twin (Rasta Twin + One). The board handled the double overhead conditions really well and turned smooth but more long drawn out turns were in its boundaries. I normally ride a 5'11 but when it gets big and rolling this is the board i will pick!"
