Introducing the Mindcraft designed by Kelly Slater and Daniel Thomson, a minimalist shape designed for pure function. Built in our patented I-Bolic 2.0 Technology, and grom sizes (5'2" and under) built in our all-new G-Flex Technology.

The Mindcraft was designed to connect the surfer to their equipment like never before, a mind surfing experience from the minds of two visionaries. The outline was chosen for its minimalism and pure function, "a seamless blend of straightened elliptical curves," says Daniel. The shape and design provide tons of speed and drive, with a feeling of pinpoint precision and the ability to turn on a dime - this board stays under your feet and goes where you want it to go.

The bottom contours are smoother, more continuous, and more subtle compared to Tomo's past models, offering plenty of speed and flow with a moderate performance rocker. There's a single to double concave that keeps the design engaged with the wave face while still offering lively response familiar to Tomo's other designs.

Pair with Kelly Slater's newest rake template, the Endorfins KSR as either a Quad or a Thruster, allowing for maximum versatility in waves 2-6 foot.

Wave Type

The Mindcraft is a small wave performance shape that works well in 2' to just overhead. It's rocker makes it suitable to fit in the curve of a smaller wave, but it also works well in a flatter faced wave due to its width and the straightness of its outline. And because you can ride it at a shorter length, it jams in the pocket and goes top to bottom very quickly.

Board Features

This shape has a relatively gentle rocker that's not too extreme but has enough tail kick to pivot nicely in the pocket. It's volume is hidden in the center with a rolled deck, and has a low-volumed rail with a soft profile for bitey control and instantaneous response. The torpedo nose provides low swing weight and makes it hard to catch your nose with its curves. The bumpwing roundtail is a tail design Kelly was really excited about for this shape that gives the outline a nice overall balance. The bulk of the board your need between your feet so you don't have to move around so much - you don't have to move forward for barrels or backwards for turns so you're in the sweet spot pretty much anytime you're up and riding.

Best Slater/Tomo board by far

"I buy a new FireWire almost every year and I love this board (occasionally surf Lost). I surf 2-3 x/week, south shore Oahu. I’m an intermediate surfer with more diligence than talent. This board has improved my wave count dramatically. Catches easy and is fast. But the best part is how it turns off the tail when wanted. I naturally surf a little front heavy and the board flies as a quad, but I’m also able to pivot much better off the tail than with other boards. This is the best board I’ve ever owned. Superior to Revo, Dominator, SBoss, Boss up. 10/10"

Sizing Up Was the Right Call

"After watching countless YouTube reviews, I bought the Kelly Slater/TOMO Mindcraft as a step-up board. The common advice was, “If you're unsure, size up,” so at 81kg I went two sizes larger and chose a 6'0" (36. 1L). I was also considering the Boss Up, but I didn't want the extra swing weight in the nose. It turned out to be an excellent decision. The board paddles effortlessly, the stepped flyer provides exceptional hold, and it still turns tightly in cupped sections while transitioning rail-to-rail with ease. I was initially nervous about the extra volume, but for Sunshine Coast conditions, it has worked incredibly well. Micky D."

Finally a board that floats me.

"Since I’m now fat and skinny at the same time I went up in volume with the 6’3 Minecraft. It surfs and feels great. I’m the problem, I’m terrible. I have man boobs and a big gut but with more time in the water on this board I think I can get back to being decent in about a years time."

Back in my game.

"Too much to tell. after being forced to quit surfing due to work in Texas now I’m back in Florida and start surfing again. I bought this Minecraft and it just blow my mind. very lively, responsive board. I started with the machadocado model, Is a wave catching machine, but I needed it something more aggressive, and this board supersede my expectation. Now I’m back hitting the lip hard and super fast board and easy to catch wave. Thank you guys this board is a must have in your quiver."
